He was best known for independently conceiving the theory of evolution by natural selection and copublishing a paper. Alfred Wallace was born on 1823 and died on 1913. He was one of the century's most remarkable intellectuals. Like Charles Darwin, co-discovered the the process of evolutibiology was a pre-eminent collector and field biologist of tropical regions of the 19th century And his book, The Malay Archipelago.

Wallace Intelligent Evolution V.S Darwinian Evolution

Both forms of evolution describe change through time, but only Wallace’s intelligent evolution limits the power of natural selection to effect biological change. It suggests that in those areas of the biological world beyond the scope of natural selection’s operations, some purposive intelligence must be called upon to explain their existence. In contrast, Darwinian evolution claims that all biological life can be explained through a directionless process of “survival of the fittest” and random mutation.
By the time of his death, Wallace was probably one of the most famous scientists of his century. His intellectual work was not as famous as Darwin’s. “Darwinian Evolution

” overshadowed Wallace’s “Intelligent Evolution” thanks to the Darwin Industry of recent decades.
