Thierry Lodé
Lodé is a French biologist who contributed to the theory of evolution with his discoveries on the connection between sexual conflict and evolution.

Theirry Lodé is a French biologist born in Tarbes in 1956. His works include conservation biology but focus mainly on sexual conflict. He is an anarchist and a strong supporter of gay rights and contraceptive rights.

He is known for his "libertine bubble theory," which explores the evolution of sexual reproduction. His theory suggests that "sex originated from an archaic gene transfer process among prebiotic bubbles without the prerequisite for reproduction" (http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/bies.201000125/abstract?deniedAccessCustomisedMessage=&userIsAuthenticated=false). His theory is one of several, and his falls under the most common concept that explores the connection between the evolution of sexual reproduction and genetics. Sexual conflict plays a role in evolution because, over time, the dominant sex develops dominant traits, whereas the other sex develops traits of resistance. Lodé calls this an "evolutionary tug." Sexual conflict also leads to speciation, or the development of a new species.
Lodé studies animals and has found that animals tend to mate with others displaying symmetry. Symmetry relies on the body's immune system, and Lodé believes that "french kissing" is a way that sexual partners explore each other's immune systems.

Factors that lead to speciation. Lodé studies the connection between reproduction and speciation.
